What is Wapsi Thin Skin Mottled Bustard?
Wapsi Thin Skin Mottled Bustard is a thin, transparent and highly stretchable vinyl sheet developed for creating incredibly realistic details on artificial flies. At only 0.1 mm thick, it wraps smoothly around the fly body while remaining strong enough for demanding fishing conditions.
One side features a matte finish while the other has a glossy surface, allowing fly tyers to choose the appearance that best matches the desired effect. The material is supplied on a paper backing, making it easy to cut perfectly straight strips of any width. Once the backing is removed, the transparent film ties down cleanly and conforms naturally to the body.
The realistic Mottled Bustard print creates natural-looking markings, while the material's ability to stretch and compress under thread or wire makes it ideal for nymph wing cases, Gammarus shellbacks and segmented bodies.
