Developed in collaboration with legendary American fly fisherman, author and instructor Dr. Gary Borger, the Daiichi 1870 is an enhanced evolution of the popular Daiichi 1770 Swimming Nymph hook. It features an Up Eye, 2X Heavy Wire construction, 3X Long Shank, the distinctive York Bend, Bronze finish and a chemically sharpened Needle Point. The unique hook geometry positions the fly naturally in the water while creating subtle movement during the retrieve, making it exceptionally effective for modern nymphs, larvae and other active subsurface patterns.
Designed together with Dr. Gary Borger as a stronger evolution of the Daiichi 1770, the Daiichi 1870 combines a durable 2X Heavy Wire construction with the unique York Bend geometry to produce a natural swimming posture and lifelike movement underwater.
