Wapsi Hares Feet (Pair)
Classic Hare Feet for Emergers, Midges and Highly Buoyant Dry Flies
Wapsi Hares Feet (Pair) contains one matched pair of natural hare feet specially selected for fly tying. The fibres are tough, translucent and naturally curly, giving them excellent buoyancy and making them ideal for tying emergers, midges and a wide variety of dry flies. Because of their unique structure, many fly tyers refer to Hare Feet as the "Poor Man's CDC"—offering similar floating qualities with considerably greater durability.
Although often compared with Snowshoe Hare, traditional Hare Feet feature slightly finer, more translucent fibres that create delicate, realistic wings and parachute posts. Each package contains one carefully matched pair of feet ready for professional fly tying.
What are Wapsi Hares Feet?
Wapsi Hares Feet consist of two natural hare feet, with the longest and most valuable fibres located around the toes. These translucent, naturally water-resistant hairs are perfect for dry fly wings, parachute posts, tails and other floating components that require a realistic appearance and excellent buoyancy.
The shorter underfur can also be blended into natural dubbing for nymphs, emergers and dry flies, making Hare Feet a remarkably versatile natural material for a wide range of tying applications.

FLYFISHING.BG RECOMMENDATIONCompared with Snowshoe Hare, Wapsi Hare Feet offer a very similar application, although Snowshoe Hare generally provides slightly greater buoyancy and longer fibres. Hare Feet feature finer, translucent and naturally curly hairs that produce exceptionally realistic wings for small emergers and midge patterns. Compared with Calf Tail, Hare Feet are considerably softer and create a more delicate, natural silhouette, making them an excellent choice whenever subtle presentation is more important than wing stiffness. This fur is usually called "Poor man's CDC" because its qualities are close to those of CDC feathers, but at the expense of them they are much more durable when fishing. |
Classic Applications of Wapsi Hares Feet
Wapsi Hare Feet are widely used for emergers, midges, Mayfly and Caddis imitations, Comparadun-style dry flies and parachute patterns. Besides producing outstanding wings and posts, the soft underfur also provides excellent natural dubbing for slim bodies and thoraxes.
