Because of their unique structure, many fly tyers refer to Hare Feet as the "Poor Man's CDC"—offering similar floating qualities with considerably greater durability.

Hare Feet feature finer, translucent and naturally curly hairs that produce exceptionally realistic wings for small emergers and midge patterns. Compared with Calf Tail, Hare Feet are considerably softer and create a more delicate, natural silhouette, making them an excellent choice whenever subtle presentation is more important than wing stiffness. This fur is usually called "Poor man's CDC" because its qualities are close to those of CDC feathers, but at the expense of them they are much more durable when fishing. |
