Calf tails are used in fly tying mainly as wings - on larger dry flies - for example the classic "Trude" (in various varieties quite popular and used in our country as well). The hairs are naturally curly, which gives volume and does not retain water. The coat is also suitable for a variety of salmon fly patterns.
