Fly Scene Beaver Fur is a premium natural fly tying material widely regarded as one of the finest natural dubbing furs available. The exceptionally soft and dense underfur allows fly tyers to create thin, tightly dubbed bodies with a smooth matte finish, while the longer guard hairs can be separated and used for tails, legs or to add subtle texture to fly patterns. 

Thanks to the natural oils found in beaver fur, the material absorbs relatively little water and performs exceptionally well in dry flies, emergers and delicate nymphs. Its fine texture, durability and natural appearance have made Beaver Fur a classic fly tying material for generations. 

What is Beaver Fur?

Beaver Fur consists of an extremely dense, fine underfur protected by longer, coarser guard hairs. The underfur is highly valued for dubbing because it creates exceptionally slim, durable bodies with a natural matte finish, while the guard hairs can be incorporated into tails, legs or other realistic fly details. 

The fine fibres twist easily onto tying thread, allowing fly tyers to create either perfectly smooth bodies or slightly buggy textures depending on the desired effect.
