Hawthorn Fly (Bibio) is an attractor dry fly that imitates small terrestrial insects of the Bibio family, commonly known as hawthorn flies. These insects often fall onto the water surface in large numbers during spring and early summer, becoming an easy and important food source for fish. Its distinct silhouette and dark contrast make it highly visible and effective during active feeding.
It is an excellent choice when fish are focused on terrestrials drifting from the banks, especially in calm and slow-moving water.
Best for: Trout, Grayling, Chub
Ideal conditions: Spring and early summer, heavy terrestrial insect fall, slow currents.
