AHREX PR382 – Predator Trailer Hook for Stinger Systems, Intruder Flies & Tube Fly Rigs
The AHREX PR382 is a purpose-built Trailer Hook from the Predator series, designed for use as a secondary (Stinger) hook on long streamers, Intruder-style flies and modern Tube Fly systems. Its primary purpose is to increase hook-up rates when aggressive predators strike the rear section of the fly.
Built from Strong Wire, the PR382 features a distinctive Up Eye, a chemically sharpened Needle Sharp Point, Small Barb and a durable Black Nickel Finish. The Up Eye design keeps the hook perfectly aligned with wire, braid or trailer loop connections, creating a clean, balanced presentation and dependable hooking performance.
Large predator flies are often attacked from behind, especially by pike, musky and salmonids. When the main hook sits too far forward, many of these strikes never reach the hook point. A Trailer Hook positions a second hook exactly where short strikes occur, significantly improving hook-up rates without affecting the fly's swimming action. This system has become a standard solution for modern articulated streamers, Intruder flies and Tube Fly rigs.
