Pike Monkey Streamer Hair

Premium Icelandic Sheep Hair for Large Streamers and Predator Flies

Pike Monkey Streamer Hair is premium natural Icelandic sheep hair developed specifically for tying large streamers and baitfish imitations. The exceptionally long, fine and silky fibres produce lifelike movement in the water, closely resembling marabou while offering considerably greater durability and much longer fibres. With lengths reaching up to 15 cm (6"), it is ideal for tying everything from compact trout streamers to oversized predator flies.

The material remains lightweight, breathes naturally with every strip and creates an incredibly lifelike swimming action without adding unnecessary weight. This combination has made Streamer Hair one of the preferred natural materials for Pike, Trout, Salmon, Steelhead and Saltwater streamer patterns.

What is Pike Monkey Streamer Hair?

Streamer Hair is natural Icelandic sheep hair known for its long, soft and slightly wavy fibres. Thanks to its lightweight structure, the fibres breathe and pulse in the water much like marabou, while being significantly stronger and more resistant to repeated strikes from predatory fish.

The material creates flowing, natural baitfish profiles without excessive bulk and can easily be combined with Bucktail, Arctic Fox or synthetic flash materials to build large articulated streamer wings.

FLYFISHING.BG RECOMMENDATION

Compared with Bucktail, Pike Monkey Streamer Hair delivers dramatically more movement and a much livelier swimming action, although it does not retain a rigid profile as well. Compared with Arctic Fox, Streamer Hair is generally longer, lighter and allows you to tie oversized streamers with surprisingly little bulk. If you are looking for a material that moves almost like marabou but offers greater durability and is capable of producing very large predator flies, Pike Monkey Streamer Hair is an outstanding choice.

Classic Applications of Pike Monkey Streamer Hair

Pike Monkey Streamer Hair is widely used for Pike streamers, large Trout streamers, Salmon and Steelhead flies, baitfish imitations and modern Saltwater predator patterns. It performs exceptionally well on its own or combined with Bucktail, Arctic Fox, Flash materials and synthetic fibres to create large multi-layered wings with outstanding movement and a natural swimming profile.
