All-round fly line with an extensive density range

The Classic Trout WF is the perfect choice for the fly angler who wants a true all-round fly line with a smooth, supple coating and an easy-to-cast taper. This line suits anyone in need of a reliable trout line — regardless of experience level. The range includes a traditional floating version, an intermediate line, and several high-density sinking models. Whether you fish stillwaters, coastal zones, or small inland streams, there’s a Classic Trout model for every application.

The Perfect Compromise

Highly user-friendly, this line performs well in a variety of fishing conditions. It’s an excellent option for anglers transitioning from beginner to intermediate, offering what we call the “perfect compromise.” All models feature a single density and single color throughout both head and running line. Built on a 6% low-stretch core, it helps detect even subtle takes. It comes pre-looped at both ends and includes an ID tag on the front loop sleeve.

Taper Design

With a relatively short front taper of 2 m (6.5 ft) and a forward-based weight distribution, this line loads easily and casts smoothly. The 6 m (19.7 ft) belly provides enough mass to turn over a variety of flies, while the balanced front allows for delicate presentations. A 4 m (13.1 ft) back taper adds loop stability and control throughout the cast. This is a truly universal taper that handles most fishing situations — rivers, lakes, and even coastal waters.

Large Range of Densities

Classic Trout WF is available in five densities: Float, Intermediate, Sink 3, Sink 5, and Sink 7. This lets you fish your flies at the ideal depth while maintaining the correct speed — even deep in the water column. Stillwater anglers will appreciate this versatility, and coastal anglers should take note: the sinking models are excellent for deep summer fishing, while the Intermediate is a great all-rounder for shallow coastal areas. Its density cuts through surface disturbance for better contact with your fly.
