The AHREX TP605 is a purpose-built streamer hook from the Trout Predator series, designed for modern trout streamers. As the lighter version of the TP610, it features a thin yet remarkably strong wire that allows fly tyers to build large, bulky patterns without unnecessary weight.
Its generous Big Hook Gap, chemically sharpened Needle Sharp Point and durable Black Nickel Finish provide outstanding hook penetration, even on bulky deer hair streamers, synthetic baitfish patterns and mouse flies. The TP605 is equally at home in both traditional and articulated streamer designs.
Bulky streamers often surround the hook with deer hair, synthetic fibres or foam. A wider hook gap leaves more clearance between the hook point and the fly body, allowing the point to penetrate cleanly during the strike. This simple design feature can dramatically improve hook-up rates on large predator patterns.
