Guideline Control 3.0 Fly Line
The Guideline Control 3.0 is a modern floating WF fly line designed specifically for beginner and intermediate fly anglers who want to improve their casting technique and develop a better connection between the fly line and the rod. Its short head design and well-balanced taper make it easy to load the rod, generate high line speed, and learn advanced casting techniques such as double hauling.
Control 3.0 is a versatile fly line suitable for fishing a wide range of flies, including dry flies, nymphs, and smaller streamers. It performs equally well in rivers and lakes, while being particularly effective on small and medium-sized rivers and in situations where limited space behind the angler restricts back casting.
The taper design is closely related to the Guideline Fario Tactical, but with a shorter head length that makes it even easier to control. This makes it an excellent choice for anglers looking for an affordable yet high-quality fly line for developing their casting skills.
Taper Design
Control 3.0 features a modern WF profile with a short head consisting of a long continuous front taper, a short belly section, and a medium-length rear taper. This combination concentrates the weight toward the rear of the head, allowing the rod to load efficiently at different casting distances.
The front taper measures 5.1 m (on line size #5), providing a smooth energy transfer and delicate fly presentation. The main belly section is 2.0 m, while the rear taper measures 1.8 m. An additional 3-meter control section between the rear taper and running line allows anglers to hold more line outside the rod tip without losing control during casting.
The compact and efficient geometry also makes the line suitable for various switch casting techniques, especially when fishing in areas with limited space behind the angler.
