What is Veevus Iris Thread Light?
Veevus Iris Thread is a versatile decorative material that expands the creative possibilities of modern fly tying. Used flat, it creates smooth, shimmering fly bodies with a refined iridescent finish. When lightly twisted, it becomes an excellent ribbing material, adding subtle sparkle and well-defined segmentation.
In addition to bodies and ribbing, the material is ideal for hot spots, extended bodies, decorative heads and as an underbody for streamers and saltwater flies. The light colours create a natural appearance, perfectly imitating the reflective qualities of trapped air bubbles and the translucent bodies of many aquatic insects.

FLYFISHING.BG RECOMMENDSUse Veevus Iris Thread Light untwisted when building fly bodies to achieve the smoothest possible finish and maximum iridescent effect. Lightly twisting the material before wrapping transforms it into an excellent ribbing thread, creating crisp segmentation with a subtle shimmer. It performs exceptionally well on Perdigon nymphs when finished with a thin coat of UV resin. |
