Wapsi SLF Standard Dubbing is the original Synthetic Living Fiber (SLF)—one of the most influential synthetic dubbing materials ever developed for fly tying. Originally created as a high-quality alternative to natural seal's fur, it combines natural translucency, subtle sheen and a distinctive "living" texture that brings fly patterns to life beneath the surface.
SLF Standard twists smoothly onto the tying thread and can be used to create anything from slim, finely tapered bodies to fuller, buggy profiles. When lightly brushed with Velcro or a dubbing brush, the fibres release naturally to form legs, gills and movement, making it equally suitable for traditional and contemporary fly patterns.
