HANAK Competition Wave Nymph Fly Rod
HANAK Competition Wave Nymph is a specialised fly rod series developed specifically for modern Euro nymphing. The blanks are designed to maximise sensitivity, improve line control and deliver natural drifts while maintaining excellent fish-playing performance. This makes the Wave Nymph an outstanding choice for both dedicated Euro nymphing anglers and competitive fly fishers.
Although primarily designed for Euro nymphing, the 9' and 9'6" models also perform exceptionally well with dry flies and wet flies, making them highly versatile river rods. The HANAK Competition Wave Nymph has been purpose-built for modern Euro nymphing, where precise line control and natural drifts are essential. The longer models allow anglers to keep more fly line off the water, reducing drag and maintaining direct contact with the flies throughout the drift.
The lightweight and sensitive blank detects even the most subtle takes, while its progressive action provides positive hook sets and excellent fish-playing control. Although primarily designed for Euro nymphing, the 9' and 9'6" models also perform exceptionally well with dry flies and wet flies, making them versatile choices for everyday river fishing.
Construction & Features
The Wave Nymph blanks are designed with a strong emphasis on lightweight performance, excellent balance and maximum sensitivity. Their four-piece construction provides compact transport dimensions while maintaining a smooth action and outstanding overall performance.
The rods are fitted with lightweight Single Leg guides that reduce overall weight while ensuring smooth line flow. A premium Half Wells cork handle offers a secure and comfortable grip during long fishing sessions, while the aluminium reel seat with a graphite insert keeps the reel firmly in place and contributes to excellent rod balance. Every rod is supplied with a quality cloth rod bag for convenient storage and transport.
