Guideline LPX Coastal Fly Rod
Guideline LPX Coastal is a premium fly rod series purpose-built for coastal, saltwater and tropical fly fishing. Featuring Guideline's advanced C.A.P M4.0™ (Complex Axial Pattern) blank technology, the rods combine exceptionally low weight, outstanding recovery speed and impressive casting stability. Designed for anglers fishing larger streamers, heavier fly lines and windy conditions, the LPX Coastal delivers effortless power without compromising comfort or casting precision.
The lightweight tip design allows the rod to generate high line speed with minimal effort while significantly reducing fatigue during long days of repetitive casting. Compared to previous Guideline saltwater rods, the LPX Coastal feels lighter, more responsive and more forgiving, making it equally suitable for experienced coastal anglers and fly fishers entering the world of saltwater fly fishing.

Built for Distance & Demanding Conditions
Guideline LPX Coastal has been engineered for anglers who regularly fish in strong winds, cast large streamers and need maximum casting efficiency. Thanks to the advanced C.A.P M4.0™ blank construction and carefully optimised taper, the rod generates outstanding line speed, recovers extremely quickly after each cast and remains exceptionally stable even when paired with heavier fly lines.
One of the defining features of the series is its lightweight tip design, which significantly reduces swing weight and casting fatigue during long days on the water. This allows the rod to accelerate the fly line more efficiently, produce tighter loops and maintain excellent accuracy when fishing exposed coastlines, large lakes or tropical flats.
Construction & Features
The blanks are built using Guideline's C.A.P M4.0™ technology, combining multi-directional and unidirectional carbon fibre layers for maximum strength, reduced weight and exceptionally fast recovery. Premium Titanium Stripping Guides with Zirconia inserts provide excellent corrosion resistance, while the lead-free PVD-coated running guides ensure smooth line flow and long-term durability in harsh saltwater environments.
A Super Grade Cork Full Wells handle with Fighting Butt provides a secure grip when casting larger flies and fighting powerful fish, while the anodized aluminium reel seat is designed for long-lasting performance in saltwater conditions. Every rod is supplied with a REPREVE™ recycled polyester rod bag and a durable recyclable polypropylene rod tube, reflecting Guideline's GL ECO-Tech™ commitment to more sustainable fly fishing equipment.
FlyFishing.bg Recommendation
For most anglers targeting sea trout from the shore, the LPX Coastal 9'3" #6 is the most versatile choice. It delivers an excellent balance of casting distance, line speed and wind-cutting performance while retaining the finesse needed for smaller streamers. If you regularly fish larger flies or target pike and other powerful predators, the #7 and #8 models provide additional lifting power and control. For tropical destinations and the toughest saltwater species, the #10 and #12 models are built to handle heavy fly lines, large flies and hard-fighting fish with complete confidence.
