Guideline Halo EVO Fly Reel
Guideline Halo EVO is the modern evolution of one of Guideline's most successful fly reel series. Retaining the proven reliability of the original Halo, the new generation features a narrower, deeper spool, enhanced versatility and several refined engineering improvements designed for today's fly fishing techniques. Precision CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium and equipped with a fully sealed carbon disc drag system and a Full Frame construction, the Halo EVO delivers dependable performance in both freshwater and saltwater environments.
The series consists of three carefully selected sizes, each covering a broader range of fly line weights thanks to its redesigned spool geometry. The narrower, deeper spool accommodates both traditional weight-forward lines and modern shooting head systems with generous backing capacity. Whether targeting trout, sea trout, pike, Atlantic salmon or demanding tropical species, the Halo EVO offers an outstanding combination of strength, versatility and long-term reliability.

A Refined Evolution of a Proven Design
The Halo EVO builds upon everything that made the original Halo successful while introducing a more versatile spool design and improved overall functionality. The narrower, deeper spool accommodates a wider variety of modern fly lines and shooting head systems without increasing the reel's external dimensions. The Full Frame construction prevents thin running lines from slipping between the spool and frame, while the Large Arbor design provides rapid line retrieval and minimises fly line memory. Corrosion-resistant components make the reel equally dependable in freshwater rivers and saltwater environments.
The fully sealed carbon disc drag system has been proven through years of fishing on Scandinavian salmon rivers and tropical saltwater flats. Guideline optimised the drag for each model: the #46 offers a finely tuned 1.5 kg drag ideal for trout applications, while the #79 and #911 deliver up to 4.0 kg of smooth, progressive stopping power for salmon, sea trout, pike and demanding tropical species. The large ergonomic drag knob allows precise adjustments even with wet or cold hands.
FlyFishing.bg Recommendation
We believe the Guideline Halo EVO is one of the strongest performers in its price category. The #46 is the ideal all-round reel for #4–#6 trout outfits, while the #79 is arguably the most versatile model in the series, perfectly suited for sea trout, pike and modern Switch rods. If your fishing focuses on Atlantic salmon, large double-handed rods or powerful tropical species such as tarpon and GT, the #911 delivers the backing capacity, drag strength and reliability needed for the most demanding situations.
