Cricket Terrestrial Fly is a dry fly designed to imitate a cricket – a large terrestrial insect that can find its way onto the water from grassy vegetation along the banks. Its substantial profile makes it a good choice for surface fishing during the warmer months, when fish actively feed on larger terrestrial insects.

Crickets can be an interesting seasonal food source for trout, grayling and chub, particularly around grassy areas, meadows and overgrown banks. Cricket Terrestrial Fly is well suited to presenting close to the bank and along vegetation, where natural insects may fall into the water.

The size 8 hook is well suited to a relatively large imitation and allows the pattern to be used as a highly visible dry fly when fishing with larger terrestrial insects.

Best for: Trout, Grayling, Chub

Ideal conditions: Warm months, areas with grassy and overgrown banks, surface feeding situations.
