Roy's Wet Patch Small
Roy's Wet Patch Small is a handcrafted fly fishing accessory inspired by the legendary British fly angler Roy Christie. Made from premium Italian Crazy Horse leather, genuine Harris Tweed, and a specially developed degreasing paste, it helps your tippet sink faster and become virtually invisible beneath the surface.
The combination of genuine Crazy Horse leather, authentic Harris Tweed, and traditional craftsmanship creates a unique accessory designed to provide years of reliable service on the water.
How Does Roy's Wet Patch Work?
When fishing dry flies, the final section of your tippet often needs to sink below the surface to eliminate glare and avoid spooking wary fish. Roy's Wet Patch uses a specially formulated degreasing paste applied to genuine Harris Tweed to remove surface tension, allowing the tippet to sink quickly and naturally.
How to Use
- Apply a small amount of the degreasing paste to the Harris Tweed.
- Pull the tippet through the two halves of the Wet Patch.
- Repeat the process a few times using light pressure.
- The tippet loses its surface tension and sinks significantly faster.
Premium Materials
The leather body is crafted from premium Italian Crazy Horse leather, renowned for its exceptional durability, weather resistance, and beautiful vintage patina that develops naturally over time.
The working surface is made from genuine Harris Tweed, traditionally woven in Scotland and perfectly suited for use with the degreasing paste.
Handcrafted in Bulgaria
Every product in the FlyFishing.bg Leather Collection is handcrafted by Kostadin Georgiev in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Each decorative artwork is individually hand-burned using a pyrograph, while every stitch is sewn by hand with premium waxed thread. Production is intentionally limited by the availability of each selected leather, making every piece genuinely unique.
Before becoming part of the FlyFishing.bg collection, every Roy's Wet Patch is extensively tested under real fly fishing conditions to ensure long-lasting performance and reliability.
